About the Film
Generation Game is being developed as a feature film, based on Andy Dale's top-selling novel Just 14 — a story rooted in real lived experience, set against the backdrop of Aston Villa's historic 1980/81 First Division title season.
Based on Andy Dale's novel 'Just 14' — Generation Game is a warm, funny, and deeply human comedy set in the terraced streets of Birmingham and the Black Country in the early 80s.
Set against the backdrop of Villa's extraordinary 1980/81 First Division title season — won using just 14 players — Generation Game is a story about what it means to grow up, to belong, and to love something bigger than yourself.
A grandad who starts it all. Parents wrestling with life's challenges. An American girl who changes everything. Set in a close-knit Black Country community, Generation Game is a warm, funny and moving story of family, friendship, first love and finding where you belong.
"One boy. One family. One football club. A story you'll never forget."
